About

ABOUT NAOMI

Naomi predominantly practises as a printmaker, and also paints and sculpts. She uses traditional intaglio printmaking techniques including etching, aquatint, sugar lift, spit bite and drypoint. She also uses lino and creates monotypes.

Naomi's work often draws on landscapes and the natural world to create both figurative and abstract images. She also depicts urban landscapes and interiors. She loves the technical aspects and processes involved in printmaking. She works both in a print studio in London and in her own studio in Earl Soham in Suffolk where she has a Gunning press.

Naomi is also a teacher. She has written an art and art history curriculum for primary schools which is taught nationwide and internationally. She also trains primary school teachers to teach art. In 2026 she led the team redrafting the art and design national curriculum for Northern Ireland.

Naomi's book, published in 2026, How to Lead It: Primary Art and Design (Bloomsbury) reflects her interest in the importance of teaching art in the primary classroom. She is passionate about providing access to art for all, whatever their background or prior experience.
